November 2024 Healthcare Data Breach Report

November 2024 saw a 15.3% increase in healthcare data breaches, with 68 incidents reported to the OCR. While the number of breaches rose, the total number of breached records decreased by 36.1% due to a significant decrease in the Change Healthcare breach impact. Hacking and IT incidents accounted for 82.4% of breaches, with email-related breaches increasing to 36% of all incidents.
