DOJ, FBI Dismantle Malware Used By China-Backed Hackers In Global Operation

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) successfully dismantled a sophisticated malware threat, PlugX, used by China-backed hackers. The malware, deployed by groups like Mustang Panda and Twill Typhoon, targeted governments, businesses, and dissident groups globally since 2014. Through collaboration with international partners and cybersecurity companies, law enforcement agencies deleted the malware from over 4,200 infected systems in the United States.
