A malicious app disguised as a financial management tool, “Finance Simplified,” was downloaded 100,000 times from the Google Play Store before being removed. The app, part of the SpyLoan family, steals sensitive information like contacts, call logs, and photos to blackmail users, particularly if they miss loan payments. Users are advised to change passwords, enable 2FA, and consider identity monitoring to mitigate potential damage.
