Cloudflare’s latest analysis reveals remarkable growth in the generative AI landscape, with traffic to AI services surging by 251% between February 2024 and March 2025. ChatGPT maintains its dominance as the #1 generative AI service, now ranking among the top 50 internet domains globally. New entrants like Chinese chatbot DeepSeek and Grok/xAI have quickly gained traction, demonstrating the dynamic nature of the AI space. While the United States leads with 23% of generative AI visitors, regional variations show Asia dominating platforms like Poe.com and Brazil emerging as a significant user across multiple services. This popularity has attracted cybersecurity challenges, with Cloudflare blocking over 197 billion potential attack requests during the past year, including 39 billion requests that were part of DDoS attack campaigns specifically targeting AI chatbots and image-generation sites.
