4 Million Affected by VeriSource Data Breach - SecurityWeek

VeriSource Services, a Houston-based provider of employee benefit administrative services, has notified four million people that their personal information was compromised in a cyberattack discovered on February 28, 2024, just one day after a threat actor exfiltrated data from its systems. The stolen data, which belonged to employees and dependents of client companies, may include names, addresses, dates of birth, gender information, and Social Security numbers, though not all data elements were affected for every individual. After completing a thorough review of the compromised files in August 2024 and working with client companies to identify all impacted individuals, VeriSource began issuing notifications and is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and identity protection services, while stating there is no evidence yet of misuse of the stolen information.
