City of Long Beach Says at Least 260,000 Affected by Hack

The City of Long Beach, California, is notifying approximately 260,000 individuals that their protected health information may have been stolen in a November 2023 cyberattack. The city experienced a network security incident in which an unauthorized third party gained access to its network, disrupting IT systems for several weeks. The city added $1 million to its cybersecurity budget since the incident.
