Microsoft server hack hit about 100 victims in U.S., Germany

A cyber espionage operation targeting Microsoft server software compromised about 100 organizations, including government agencies and businesses. The attack, utilizing a previously undisclosed vulnerability, allows spies to penetrate vulnerable servers and potentially gain continuous access. The FBI and Britain’s National Cyber Security Center are aware of the attacks and are investigating.
