Allianz Life data breach exposed the data of most of its 1.4M customers

On July 16, 2025, Allianz Life confirmed a significant data breach affecting the majority of its 1.4 million customers after a threat actor used social engineering tactics to access a third-party cloud-based CRM system. The breach exposed personally identifiable information of customers, financial professionals, and select employees, though the company states no evidence indicates access to internal networks or critical systems like policy administration. Allianz Life has contained the incident, notified the FBI, begun customer notifications, and is providing dedicated support while the investigation continues.
