Nearly 1M SSNs and Health Records Exposed in Marijuana Patient Database

Ohio Medical Alliance exposed a medical marijuana patient database containing nearly one million records, including SSNs, IDs, health files, and sensitive internal notes. The databases, left unprotected, were discovered by cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler, who reported the exposure to Website Planet. The company restricted public access to the database after being alerted by Fowler.
