ESET discovered PromptLock, the first AI-driven ransomware, using OpenAI’s gpt-oss:20b model to generate and execute malicious Lua scripts. The ransomware, written in Golang, can steal, encrypt, or potentially destroy data on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
