Plex tells users to reset passwords after new data breach
Media streaming service Plex has disclosed a data breach in which an attacker accessed a limited subset of customer information, including email addresses, usernames, and securely hashed passwords. While Plex quickly contained the incident and confirmed that no payment data was compromised, the company is urging all users to reset their passwords and log out of connected devices as a precaution. Plex also recommends enabling two-factor authentication to enhance account security. This marks the second such incident for Plex in recent years, underscoring the ongoing importance of strong password practices and layered security controls for both service providers and end users.
