Fewer data breaches in Australia, but human error now a bigger threat | Computer Weekly

In the first half of 2025, Australia saw a 10% decrease in data breaches, with 532 reported incidents. However, human error is an increasing concern, now accounting for 37% of breaches, up from 29%, while malicious attacks remain the primary cause at 59%. The health sector is the most affected industry, followed by finance and government agencies.
