Australia’s spy chief warns of China-linked threats to critical infrastructure

Australia’s spy chief, Mike Burgess, has warned that China-linked actors, including the Volt Typhoon APT group, are probing and have gained access to critical infrastructure, posing a threat of cyber sabotage and espionage. These groups are targeting sectors like power, water, and transport, with China reportedly making ambiguous admissions about involvement in similar cyberattacks on U.S. infrastructure.
