A miracle: A company says sorry after a cyber attack - and donates the ransom to cybersecurity research

In a refreshing departure from typical corporate responses to data breaches, Checkout.com has publicly apologized for a cyber attack that exposed data from a legacy system, and instead of paying a ransom, they are donating the demanded amount to cybersecurity research at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Oxford.
