Ransomware gangs seize a new hostage: your AWS S3 buckets | CSO Online
Ransomware gangs are increasingly targeting AWS S3 buckets, moving beyond on-premises systems by exploiting cloud-native encryption and key management features to lock organizations out of their data. Attackers achieve this by disabling versioning and Object Lock, exploiting wide write permissions, and then encrypting data with keys inaccessible to the victim or scheduling key deletion.
