Harvard alumni department database hacked

An unauthorized party accessed databases used by Harvard’s Alumni Affairs and Development through a phone-based phishing attack, potentially exposing alumni information. Harvard is investigating the breach with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement, stating that sensitive financial data like Social Security numbers and passwords were not generally included, but email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses may have been accessed.
