Google has agreed to a $135 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging the company collected Android users’ cellular data without permission, even when apps were closed or location sharing was off. The settlement, which includes potential payouts of up to $100 per user, also requires Google to improve data transfer controls and obtain explicit consent during device setup.
