Warlock Gang Breaches SmarterTools Via SmarterMail Bugs

SmarterTools disclosed a breach caused by vulnerabilities in its SmarterMail product, exploited by the Warlock ransomware group. The vulnerabilities, addressed in a January release, allowed the attackers to compromise SmarterTools’ network and some customer systems. SmarterTools isolated its networks, restructured them, and reset passwords, while also improving transparency in security communications.
