A security researcher discovered that 287 Chrome extensions, with a total of 37 million installs, were leaking users' browsing history by sending data like search queries and timestamps to external servers. These extensions, including VPNs and productivity tools, used encrypted payloads to make detection difficult, potentially enabling corporate espionage and credential harvesting.
