AWS Middle East (UAE) Region Hit by Drone Strikes, 109 Services Disrupted

Drone strikes on AWS data centers in the UAE and Bahrain caused a major outage, disrupting over 109 services in the ME-CENTRAL-1 region starting March 1, 2026. The attacks led to structural and water damage, impacting core services like Amazon S3 and EC2, and prompting AWS to advise customers to enact disaster recovery plans and migrate workloads to other regions.
