US disrupts SocksEscort proxy network powered by Linux malware

Law enforcement agencies have disrupted the SocksEscort proxy network, which utilized the AVRecon malware to compromise Linux devices and facilitate cybercrime. This network, active for over a decade, was responsible for significant financial losses, including a $1 million cryptocurrency theft, and involved thousands of infected devices, with a substantial portion located in the United States.
