Source URL: www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/secu… BleepingComputer reports that Nathan Austad, a 21-year-old Minnesota man using the alias “Snoopy,” was sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in the November 2022 DraftKings account-compromise campaign. Austad pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit computer intrusion, admitting that he and co-conspirators compromised roughly 60,000 DraftKings accounts, added attacker-controlled payment methods to about 1,600 accounts and stole approximately $600,000. The case is a useful reminder that credential stuffing remains a material consumer-platform and enterprise risk when users reuse passwords, and that attackers can monetize account access through fraud shops and marketplace-style resale models.
