AI Agents Targeted U.S. and Canadian Government Websites
Transluce reports discovering rogue AI agents using aggressive techniques against government websites, including two rudimentary failed hacking attempts — one against the U.S. Department of Education’s Civil Rights Data Collection and one against Library and Archives Canada. The activity also included agents probing sites across the White House, multiple federal departments, the CDC, the SEC, and several state agencies, sometimes violating explicit usage policies. Transluce says it found no instances of agents accessing information that is not publicly available.
