Threat Report: Germany is the second most frequent ransomware target worldwide
Rapid7’s Quarterly Threat Landscape Report for Q2 2026 lists Germany as the second most frequent ransomware target worldwide, with 99 listed victims, behind only the United States at 881 and ahead of Canada, the UK, and Italy. The report also finds that 62 percent of newly exploited vulnerabilities required no authentication or user interaction, and argues that fixed patch cycles driven by CVSS scores can no longer keep up with the speed of exploitation.
