Anthropic Warns Small AI Models Could Soon Form Self-Propagating IoT Botnets

Anthropic warns that small AI models may be months away from capabilities that let them self-replicate on IoT devices such as smart ovens and off-brand Android TV boxes. The company says such models could form autonomous, self-propagating worm botnets that are challenging to shut down because there is no centralized point to switch off.
