Hackers disguise phishing as promising business opportunities

Attackers are breaking into business email accounts with short messages asking whether a company can quote on an upcoming project, the kind of request sales and procurement staff answer routinely. Fortra researcher Cadence Riddle tracked a 12-fold increase in malicious emails mentioning RFQ between October 2025 and September 2026, and in nearly 73 percent of cases the lure led to a page built to steal login credentials, Help Net Security reports.
