Scammers clone candidates' voices to steal cash and voter data ahead of 2026 midterms, FBI warns

Fraudsters are borrowing candidate names, logos, and slogans, including cloned voices, to collect fake donations and harvest personal data three weeks before the 2026 US midterm elections, the FBI warned. The public service announcement says the schemes target victims across the country and have previously exploited state and local elections, Help Net Security reports.
