Standardized testing hack exposes names and addresses of millions of students
Hackers stole data on millions of current and former California public school students from Educational Testing Service (ETS), the state’s standardized-testing contractor, the Los Angeles Times reports. The exposed data includes names, addresses, dates of birth, disability records and student ID numbers; officials say an attacker used a compromised login credential to copy files between May and September 2026, and there is no evidence yet of misuse.
