Qubic halts mainnet after wallet drain empties 1,404 accounts

The Qubic network paused its mainnet on October 18 after an attacker drained 1,404 user wallets of roughly 2.94 trillion QU tokens, worth about .3 million, Crypto Briefing reports. Developers traced the exploit to weak, predictable wallet seeds generated on legacy Apple devices and early iOS apps rather than a flaw in the network’s code, and most of the drained funds were immobilized on-chain.
