How a Massive Chinese Crime Ring Hacked Staples to Steal Millions

A Chinese organized crime group hacked into Staples and used its internal systems to fraudulently issue more than 15,000 gift cards worth over $5 million, 404 Media reports, citing newly unsealed court records. The gang redeemed thousands of the cards at retailers across the United States and shipped the goods to China, as part of a wider scheme that acquired more than $100 million worth of gift cards.
