GPT-6.1 Terra meets OpenAI’s Critical cyber threshold, and it’s cheaper than GPT-5.6 Terra

OpenAI has released GPT-6.1 Terra to ChatGPT Work and Codex users and to developers through its API at half the price of GPT-5.6 Terra, Help Net Security reports. OpenAI says the model meets the Critical threshold for cybersecurity under its Preparedness Framework — the level at which a model can, with tools, find and build working exploits for unknown flaws or run an attack from start to finish against a hardened target with no human involved — and that it retains the safeguards built for GPT-6 Astra.
