DOJ raises privacy concerns over potential sale of Character.AI chats

The U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office for U.S. Trustees has raised privacy concerns over a potential sale of Character.AI chat data, The Record reports. It said a consumer privacy ombudsman is needed to advise the court on what data can be sold and under what terms.
