Google Dismantles XCPE Botnet of 1.3 Million Android Devices

Google and industry partners have dismantled the XCPE botnet, which enrolled more than 1.3 million Android devices, mostly TV set-top boxes, SecurityWeek reports. Google says it is highly confident the backdoor was intentionally developed and operated for financial gain by Videostrong Technology, an Android device maker that sold access to criminal affiliates.
