Apple turns iCloud into spy cloud, will start looking at public share links

Apple has announced that, starting with version 27.3 of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS, items shared through public ‘Anyone with the Link’ iCloud links will be checked by Apple for ‘harmful content’ — a term the company has not defined. Sharing an item this way removes its end-to-end encryption even when Advanced Data Protection is enabled, and Apple says it may remove content, disable accounts, or involve law enforcement. Apple has not explained whether the checks will be automated, human-reviewed, or both.
