Sony Bank: Digital Securities Trustee Securitize Japan suffered unauthorized access, leading to the leakage of information for 621 customers

Sony Bank has announced that Securitize Japan, the external contractor for its digital securities service, suffered unauthorized access to its systems, ChainCatcher reports. Securitize Japan detected the anomaly on October 29 and confirmed the access the same day; information on 621 customers leaked — names, addresses, birth dates and account numbers for four customers, and names only for the other 617. Sony Bank says no improper transactions have been identified and there is no evidence the information has been made public; digital securities transactions have been suspended.
