CEO-spoofing scammers used AI to help steal more than $100 million, feds say

US authorities have charged three people in a fraud scheme that used AI deepfakes to impersonate corporate CEOs and attorneys, defrauding businesses of about $129 million. The impersonations were used to direct fraudulent payments from victim companies.
