When the Watchdogs Are Silenced: India’s Crackdown on Those Documenting Online Censorship

The EFF reports that Delhi Police issued takedown requests to X targeting 42 URLs, including accounts and posts belonging to digital rights groups such as the Software Freedom Law Center, India and the Internet Freedom Foundation, and posts documenting online censorship. The EFF says the requests threaten the public’s ability to know when and how online speech is being restricted.
