Hackney Council: Cyber-attack cost ‘hundreds of thousands’

Hackney Council is spending hundreds of thousands of pounds to recover from a 2020 cyber attack, including hiring agency staff and IT consultants. The attack, which resulted in the posting of personal data on the dark web, led to a rebuke from the Information Commissioner’s Office for inadequate security measures.
