Cybercriminals in the Middle East are impersonating government officials to execute refund scams. They trick victims into downloading remote access software, granting them access to sensitive information like card details and OTPs. This allows the scammers to make online purchases or recharge e-wallets, resulting in average losses of $1,300 per victim.
