Microsoft Sues Hacking Group Exploiting Azure AI for Harmful Content Creation

Microsoft is suing a hacking group for using stolen Azure credentials to bypass safety controls and generate harmful content. The group, which Microsoft discovered in July 2024, exploited Azure OpenAI Service and sold access to other malicious actors. Microsoft revoked access, implemented countermeasures, and seized a central website to disrupt the operation.
